Compelling Reason Days
1. There seems to be a confusion regarding the above named leaves per the CBA.
2. Emergency Leave, page 7, V. Leaves, sect. J: emergency leave for family health issues (including dental and vision issues) that deals with a serious medical crisis.
3. The documentation must make note of that…a “sick” visit versus a “well” visit. A well visit can be scheduled any time and does not qualify for an emergency leave.
4. Documentation must be submitted within 48 hours of the medical visit or personal catastrophe.
5. Emergency days can be ½ days.
6. Compelling reason days, page 8, can also be ½ days.
7. Documentation within 48 hours or prior, if known ahead of time.
8. 48 hours for documentation, seems to be where the logjam is occurring. Everyone needs to follow through on the documentation or your request may be changed to: sick day, family sick day, personal day, deduct day
9. Please call the REA office with any questions.
Respectfully,
Mitch Hettinger
