Good Morning and Welcome to week 4 of being home!
I hope that last week and the roll out of the Continuity of Learning plan went off as smoothly as possible.
Continuity of Learning Plan: Please note that the Continuity of Learning Plan that was sent out from Krisitn Boyd has 3 tabs at the bottom, please reference the email from 3/26/20. As a reminder, if you have a question about the plan you should contact your direct supervisor. If you have a question about a directive they have given you, please contact me.
Act 48 and Online PD: For many of the online PD options you will need your PPID#. If you do not have this at home, you may visit https://www.perms.pa.gov/screens/wfpublicaccess.aspx .You can enter your Social Security # and they will give you your PPID. Additionally, I have been informed that the PD requirement will increase over the time we are off. I do not have specifics as to when or how much, when I do I will let you know.
Suggestions: As we navigate through this new normal please let me know if you have suggestions for improvement either in how you are delivering your instruction or PD options. I will compile a list of these suggestions and pass them on to the Cabinet. Depending on the platform you use and what your students are accustomed to, we may need to tailer the push out of information. Additionally, more PD on how to use those platforms effectively may be helpful as well.
Time Logs: Absolutely, under no circumstances, should you be recording an hourly time log and submitting it to your supervisor/principal. We are SALARIED employees, not hourly. If you have been directed to fill out a time log recording your hours, please let me know so I may address it.
Quote of the Week: Remember when you were little and you’d fall while on the trampoline but everyone would keep jumping so you couldn’t get up? That’s teaching.
Be Well!
