Good Morning,
REA Website and Members Only: Don’t forget to sign up for the Members Only section of our website. I review all registrations on Mondays after I send out the Monday Message. All of the Monday Messages are posted in the Members Only section, plus any other Union sensitive information. If you have difficulty logging on, please contact me directly.
Conflict Resolution: This is a very difficult time for everybody and emotions may be running high. When there is an issue between members, the Union does not get involved at the local level. However, as a benefit of your membership, we do have Conflict resolution (mediation) with a third party mediator. I am attaching the forms if you think it may be beneficial for you and a fellow member. (This is also available to use with our Paras as they are also part of PSEA)
Return to the buildings: I understand that several rumors have been circulating in regard to us returning to the buildings. These are ALL rumors. I have directly asked Central admin. Remember, at the end of the day the school board will vote on this.
Open House: If your building admin is having a “drive-by” open house and has either not given a virtual option or has made a virtual option tedious and lengthy, please have your building rep contact your level officer. The school board voted to keep us virtual, open house is not an exception.
Walk through form: Your building principal or supervisor should have shared (or may share today) the district is implementing a form in PA-ETEP when doing a walk-through. I did review the form with JuliAnne Kline last week. It looks very much like an abbreviated version of the formal observation rubric using Distinguished/ Proficient/ Needs Improvement/ Failing. During this virtual period, observations and walk-throughs may get a little tricky. It is the Union’s position that whoever is observing you MUST be logged in to your Google Meet. IF you receive notes in your anecdotal note section of PA-ETEP and the administrator was not actually present during the meet, please notify your Rep ASAP.
Virtual Learning: I have heard from several of you that you are overwhelmed to say the least. I am scheduling a meeting with the Teaching and Learning Department, however I would like some concrete data to bring back to them. Please click on the link that is applicable to you.
