Column Movement and Tuition reimbursement: Please remember that the district is still processing column movement as per last week’s MM. Helpful information about step movement can be found on page 35 of your CBA. PLEASE REMEMBER YEARS OF SERVICE DO NOT EQUATE TO STEPS! If you have a question, please reach out to me directly and I can walk you through. Additionally, please make sure you are looking at the “reg salary” number located in the upper left hand corner and multiplying that by 26. You must also adhere to all timelines for reimbursement and movement. Movement will only be granted IF official transcripts are received.
Covid DashBoard and Closures: Last week I raised the concern with Central admin over the Covid dashboard and school closures. With the resignation of Kristin Boyd, new permissions were needed on blackboard for an authorized user. I am being told that occurred last week, and an updated dashboard will be working this week. As far as building closures, the CDC/DOH/PDE have new guidelines to constitute a closure. Again, I am being told, that building closures will only occur if the amount of staff out makes the building unsafe to operate. Otherwise classroom closures will occur or section closures will occur. Constitution and By-Law Revisions: The current constitution and by-law revisions were discussed at last week’s Rep Council. An amendment was proposed and passed during that meeting. The proposed new language will read as such:
Article III, Section 17: In the case of a vacancy of an elected position other than the President, the position shall be filled for the remainder of the membership year upon appointment by the President, recommendation of the Executive Committee, and approval by the Representative Council. Should the vacancy last more than 1 membership year, the President shall appoint a temporary replacement until a special election can be held, no more than two weeks later, to fill the position. Reimbursement of dues for the newly elected Officer will be on a prorated basis.
Prior Language: Section (16)17. In the case of a vacancy of an elected position other than the President, the position shall be filled for the remainder of the membership year upon appointment by the President, recommendation of the Executive Committee, and approval by the Representative Council. This position shall be placed on the ballot for the subsequent Association general election.
Because of this change to the revisions, voting will now be pushed back to the first week in October. Your building rep will notify you with more information.
