1/2 Day Fridays: Our formal proposal was presented to the School Board on 2/23/22 with very little reaction from the board president or members. We will continue to push this issue with the district.
Pre-Retirement Workshop: Are you starting to think about planning your retirement? This year Eastern Region is holding a “Virtual” Pre-Retirement Series via Zoom. These workshops are FREE and open to all PSEA members. Space is limited, and pre-registration is required! The attached flyer outlines workshop topics, dates and times, as well as registration deadlines for each session. Because space is limited, we ask that you sign up for only those workshops you are interested in attending. A day or two before each workshop, you will be sent a confirmation/reminder email along with Zoom information. Remember…the sooner you start planning your retirement, the better your retirement will be! Get Involved: I would strongly encourage members to start to take advantage of trainings Eastern Region offers to expand your knowledge of the Union and begin to get involved. There are 2 trainings in March which are a great way to get started.
How Do I Explain All that PSEA Is? (EA and ESP Session) Presenter —- Eastern Region UniServ: Corinne Fecho Offered on March 21, 2022 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. virtually. At meetings, local leaders tend to only talk about collective bargaining, enforcing the contract, and grievances. PSEA is so much more than this! As members of PSEA, do we really truly understand all that PSEA has to offer and the myriad of ways that PSEA is there to help us with our everyday lives? PSEA offers many opportunities for our members that will help them professionally and personally. This is also a way to connect with the majority of your members for them to find value in being a part of what is a positive organization. Connect with and engage more members in your local as you start to begin to understand the benefits of membership that extend beyond Collective Bargaining and the contract. Compensation and Your Contract (EA Only Session) Presenters —— Eastern Region UniServs: John McKiernan and Steve Cholish Offered on March 22, 2022 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. virtually. We will examine salary schedules and all other components of contracts that deal with compensation.
