Thank you to the 204 members who came to the meeting yesterday! John McKiernan and Tiffany Dollar both had excellent and informative presentations. Hand outs from their presentations will be given to reps at the May 9th rep council meeting to share with staff that were unable to attend yesterday. In addition to their presentations the members present were able to have a discussion and question and answer session about a MOU that was presented to our Association. The MOU outlines the grade reconfigurations and change to the work day for the 5th grade teachers. It also outlines the 9 million dollars that the district has committed to renovations for the buildings. A motion was made to table signing the MOU until a later date, after discussion a vote was taken, 203 members voted in favor of tabling the signing of the MOU. If we get to a point where we need to consider signing the MOU another General Membership meeting will be called and a discussion and vote will again occur. The MOU will NOT be signed without a vote.
