Good Morning and Welcome Back!
I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable break. I have many items for you today.
Friday Finish Videos: Kristin Boyd reached out to see if anyone would be interested in having her come to your room to record a “Friday Finish” video. If you follow RSD on Facebook, this is a great way to show off all the awesome things you do in your classroom. If you would be interested, please email Kristin directly.
Danielson Model: A copy of the Danielson Framework has been added to the REA website under “Resources.” If you are up for your formal evaluation I would highly suggest looking at this prior to your observation and pre/post observation meetings.
NEA Representative Assembly: You should have received an email from PSEA’s President Rich Askey requesting you to vote for delegates for the 2020 NEA-RA. There is a specific log in with election code and pin that you will need to vote. You may ask, why is this important to me or what exactly happens at the RA? Delegates that are chosen have taken positions supporting equal access to a high-quality public education, civil rights, desegregation of schools, women’s rights, fair pay and working conditions, and many other issues. Delegates have spoken out against bullying, high-stakes testing, and other topics. As an Urban local we face many unique situations that other locals can not fathom, this is where we are able to have your voice heard. When you look at the ballot, you will see that there are several members from REA running for a delegate position. Please consider voting for your fellow REA members.
Employment Opportunity: If you are looking for part time work please see the attached flyer. Employment Opportunity
Supplies: I was contacted by Reading Eagle to see if our teachers would be interested in extra supplies. They would include poster board, glossy paper, etc. If you are interested please contact Dave Mowery dmowery@readingeagle.com .
Quote of the Week: “Students work hardest for teachers they like and respect. When I’m asked, ‘How do I get the students to like and respect me?’ my immediate response is, ‘Like and respect them first.” – Dr. Debbie Silver in Education Week Teacher
Have a great week!
