Good Morning,

Absence Reporting: I am attaching the Guide for Absence reporting as a refresher/reference. Your best bet is to input your absence in to Frontline via the website so there is a “receipt” of sorts with a time stamp. ABSENCE GUIDE FOR TEACHERS (2)

TeleDoc: As part of your medical plan, we have access to “Virtual Care.” Please see the attached flyers for more information.Virtual Care

Prescription Home delivery and “Questions” for the Pharmacist: Some members have inquired if there is an option to “speak to the pharmacist” with the prescriptions they receive through mail order. Optum has a customer service team specifically for home delivery.  If you have a question, you should call 800-807-5996.  If you would actually need a pharmacist and one is not readily available, they will get a call back within 24 hours.

Mandated Reporting: We have seen a large influx of childline calls this year. One of the greatest benefits of your membership is having free and immediate access to lawyers trained in these types of calls. For more information about mandated reporting please visit https://www.psea.org/voice/mandatoryreporting

SPAM Emails: Please be aware that a company has been sending emails to some PSEA members offering a free pension consultation. This company is not in any way related to your PSERS pension plan. The company refers to itself as PERA (Public Employee Retirement Assistance), and the wording of the email can mislead members to believe that the company is connected with the actual PSERS (Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System). Please know that this company is not in any way related to your PSERS pension plan. It is a solicitation from an unrelated company which sells retirement and insurance products.

Quote of the Week: “Strong teachers don’t teach content; Google has content. Strong teaching connects learning in ways that inspire kids to learn more and strive for greatness.” -Eric Jensen
