I had emailed at the beginning of this week that I would be attending a meeting with other Union Presidents and the Central Admin Cabinet to discuss RSD’s re-opening plan. There has been a request from some of the membership to hold an online forum with a question and answer session. While I believe that is a great idea, I don’t know how much we will accomplish before actually seeing the district’s plan. I do however think it is important to hear from all of you as to how you are feeling in regards to any re-opening so a survey has been created. Please take the time to answer the survey questions, I can then take this data with me to the meeting to share and possibly obtain some answers. After the meeting is held, we will look at setting up a timeline much like we do with bargaining. I will send out the plan from the district to the membership for you to look over and formulate further questions, we will then set up a time for an online “General Membership” meeting to discuss the plan and answer questions. In relationship to timelines we are looking at roughly holding the meeting the week of August 3rd.
